OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Tool Room Manager to lead and oversee our tool room operations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing tool rooms, working as a tooling engineer, and leading a group of tooling engineers.
Experience in process engineering is a plus.
This role requires exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise, and a keen eye for detail.ResponsibilitiesManage and supervise daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output.Oversee the design, development, maintenance and improvement of injection molds and tooling equipment.Collaborate with the corporate engineering team to address improvements, tooling issues, implement solutions, and optimize processes.Develop and implement tool room policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance productivity and quality.Train and mentor tool room staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Monitor and maintain inventory levels of tooling and supplies, ensuring timely procurement and minimal downtime.Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of tooling equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.Collaborate with Tooling Engineers, Process Engineers, and Quality Engineers to improve the performance and consistency of injection molds and molded components.Identify, justify, and implement cost reduction projects to reduce the cost of maintaining and repairing injection molds.Conduct regular inspections of external tool shops to assure minimum requirements.Work with internal and external molders to maintain mold preventive maintenance records.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience managing tool rooms.At least 5 years of experience working as a tooling engineer, specifically in injection molding.Proven experience managing a team of tooling engineers.Strong technical knowledge of injection mold design, development, and maintenance.Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and precision.Desired Qualifications:Experience in procuring tooling in the Far East.MBA.Process Engineering experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
