JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for participating in central plastics molding and assembly quoting activities in support of new business development.
Responsible for procuring new mold quotations from approved Mold makers and coordinating supply chain and electronics group activities/inputs as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate effective leadership to coach and mentor technical business development service team members or technical farm league Engineers
- Conduct employee performance evaluations for direct reports
- Collaborate with BUDs, business development team members and Customers to collect appropriate input variables for costing
- Collaborate with site manufacturing teams and supply chain management to ensure alignment with manufacturing strategies
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical plastics molding and assembly techniques and the ability to evaluate challenging assemblies for the most cost effective approach
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Customer service
- Develop piece part quotes for individual injection molded plastic parts
- Develop mold quotes for medium to complex plastic parts
- Support Customer presentations to review quote packages
- Provide technical support for new business development and Customer visits as needed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Strong knowledge of medical plastics injection molding and assembly
- Strong understanding of Injection molds and mold procurement
- Good working knowledge of medical qualification processes (FAT/SAT) and validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Ability to identify optimal manufacturing strategies for medical part molding and assembly
- Good working knowledge of cGMP, 21-CFR 820 and ISO 13485 requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of Customers or employees of organization
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations
- Basic skill use of CAD software (SolidWorks and/or ProE/Creo) required; viewing, sectioning and mass property calculations
