Tortilla Research & Development Manager required for a large and well-known establishment in Riyadh, Saudi.
The Role:
Manages and supervises the manufacturing department and schedules production to meet customer or company requirements.
Develops and manages the departmental budget and coordinates training.
Job Duties
- Supervises and manages the department and personnel by supervising front line supervisors and communicating any procedural changes, monitoring payroll for line personnel, conducting employee evaluations, planning and organizing activities, coordinating and attending training seminars, maintaining labor relations, ensuring effective communication with other departments and planning for the implementation of new products and processes.
- Schedules production by developing production schedules, adjusting schedules depending on customer requirements, scheduling production lines for maximum output, planning for the testing of new product, equipment and processes and communicating with other departments.
- Manages the departmental budget by developing a budget for labor based on projectedsales, including new equipment parts in the budget, monitoring labor, supplies, overtime and temporary labor accounts, reviewing payroll accounts, coordinating with accounting on costing new products and developing cost reductions within the department.
- Responsible for Food Safety and Quality Prerequisite programs.
- Ensures operational staff meet food safety and quality requirements.
- Performs other duties by developing and coordinating training procedures for personnel,maintaining accurate records, managing inventory and performing other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of HACCP, GMPs.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement process training and skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills to effectively supervise professional andnon-professional staff. (if applicable)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of all relevant laws, regulations, and operating guidelines.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
- Ability to interface with PCs, and understand all software.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Must have good analytical and reasoning skills.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in managing food production, preferably in the baking industry
- Knowledge of tortilla production processes and techniques
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality control standards
- Experience in implementing and optimizing production processes
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets
- Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred
- Relevant certifications or degree in food science, bakery, or related field
- Operations and/or Leadership Management experience in a consumer product environment, bakery experience is a must.
- Experience in Lawrence lines.
Salty is USD4,000 - USD5,000 (tax free) + accommodation + transport + annual ticket + medical insurance + annual salary increment based on performance.
Pay: $66,800.00 - $83,500.00 per month
