We are currently looking for a self-motivated individual with great attention to detail to join our team as a **Compliance Specialist I** at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to make a positive impact in a renowned organization committed to improving global health, cleanliness, and safety.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure full compliance with US and international regulations, supporting the LSG Thermo Fisher trade compliance group in daily management of global free trade agreements.
- Review, determine, and maintain free trade agreement qualification for LSLPG, managing day-to-day free trade operations.
- Process requests from customers and the business, gathering data to resolve product qualification.
- Compliantly maintain all vital documents for free trade agreement determination.
- Coordinate and ensure compliance with international trade and customs operations, including import and export documentation.
- Manage domestic logistics, including border crossing and shipment coordination with carriers.
- Ensure correct delivery and filing of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) certificates of origin.
- Control, monitor, audit, update, and label information related to temporary imported machinery and equipment.
- Register and manage transfer notices for customs authorities through the VUCEM portal.
- Daily verification of inventory reports and support entries with required certificates.
- Ensure correct information on temporary machinery and equipment labels before import.
- Maintain permanent communication with the Global Trade Compliance team in the U.S.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of trade compliance processes, seeking opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness, and expansion of shared service activities.

**Job Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited four-year college/university, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Strong hands-on operational statistics and compliance knowledge.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in free trade agreements.
- In-depth knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, General Rules of Interpretation, Explanatory Notes, CROSS, audit principles, ADD/CVD, and all PGAs.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Direct knowledge of biotechnology, chemical, and/or pharmaceutical industry and compliance requirements is preferred.
- Prior experience working with SAP-GTS and Agile/JD Edwards/TRAX is strongly preferred.
- Customhouse broker license is strongly preferred.
- Multinational experience is preferred.
