Pilot Plant Engineer Internship - Full Time - Oberwinterthur, Switzerland

We are looking for an Intern Pilot Plant Engineer to join our Chemtech, Technology and Innovation, team in Oberwinterthur.
Join our R&D team for six months, where you'll have the opportunity to develop new products for the chemical industry and sustainable technologies, such as carbon capture, bio-refineries, and emission control.
As a trainee in our Separation Technology Business Unit, you'll be part of a dynamic team driving projects from the ideation phase to market-ready solutions. You'll gain exposure to developing essential products like structured and random packings, trays, internals, separators, and static mixers—working on in-house and client projects that are diverse in nature and pivotal for the industry.
Your main tasks and responsibilities: Collaborate in the development of structured and random packings, internals, and related products. Conduct tests in hydraulic test rigs, absorbers, and distillation columns, dedicating most of your time to hands-on product testing and development. Document, evaluate, and interpret experimental results to produce data-driven insights. Support the enhancement of our testing facilities and design new test setups. Participate in the full product development lifecycle, from ideation through market-readiness, contributing to impactful projects. To succeed in this role, you will need: Pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field, with strong knowledge in mass transfer and/or separation technology. Previous experience in data visualization and analysis, with the ability to interpret and document findings effectively. Basic mechanical skills and hands-on experience with pilot plants are beneficial. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CAD and programming skills is a plus. Able to prioritize tasks, collaborate well within a team, and bring a proactive and innovative mindset to the table. Fluency in English, other languages welcome.
