Amazon's Transportation Services (Line Haul & Middle Mile) Team is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, technically skilled, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Transportation Procurement Specialist to lead the sourcing of Amazon.
You will lead supplier management KPI and metrics reporting, and work with stakeholders to find and understand deviation and improvement areas. You will provide procurement leadership and align with the building leadership team to drive efficiencies and improvements in transportation.
Key job responsibilities
- Commercial Negotiations and Cost Controllership: Execute annual RFPs including reverse auctions, carrier scouting and negotiations. Obtaining leadership/ execution alignment as per S&TP, while ensuring rate closures according to aligned Scope of Work. Using market intelligence and carrier insights to bring "outside-in" perspectives for long term sourcing strategy development.
- Contract (legal and commercial terms) negotiations and Compliance: own MSAs documents end-to-end including ongoing rate closure/other addenda and their timely execution/renewal.
- Support payment processes and Payment on Time metrics as per defined SLA
- Peak capacity blocking and commercial closures: support all peak (peak trip and ad-hoc) rate closure requests, reach out to supplier for capacity check and block the carrier's truck capacity as per Planning requests.
- Cost Optimization, Innovation and Program Support: Contribute towards building commercial models including cost models for Relay Load Board, special projects like Fixed + Variable for LH; internal rate benchmarking/standardization; identifying cost optimization opportunities. Supporting programs like Fleet, Electrification and Fuel Surcharge.
- Process Improvement, Simplification and Automation via deep-dive, data analysis for SLA misses, rate negotiation, contracting speed and effectiveness improvements.
- Track and advance cost-savings efforts with vendors to benefit Amazon

The Procurement Specialist will directly support the ATS execution in managing a set of carrier rates and procurement processes. This space is focused on the Inbound/Outbound transportation network today, but is growing to include other business needs.
