**Job Summary**:
**Our product, your drive!** As a member of the **ABL Engineering group, **you're part of **V**alue **A**nalysis and **V**alue **E**ngineering team. As a VA/VE Project Engineer you're responsible for analyzing existing products and processes to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency, as well as developing new solutions and processes that meet customer needs while reducing costs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and sales to identify areas for improvement and develop cost-effective solutions.
**Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)**:
- Work with design teams to develop new products and processes that meet customer needs driven by cost optimization, manufacturability, logistics and ease of source components.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to develop new materials and processes that meet customer and supply chain requirements.
- Work with supply chain group to guarantee the availability of components for the different stages of the product development.
- Perform Long-Lead-Time (LLT) analysis for components in BOM and inform Product Introduction Teams.
- Analyse existing products and processes to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.
- Conduct Value Analysis studies to determine the functional requirements of products and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Develop cost models and conduct cost analyses to support decision-making.
- Monitor and report on the progress of project developments and cost reduction initiatives.
**Experience (minimum experience required)**:
- AC/DC and DC/DC converters
- Power Factor Correction (PFC)
- Resonant and Quasi-resonant converts (SRC, LLC, LCC)
- Flyback, full-bridge, half-bridge, forward, buck, boost
- Has an analytic capacity for electronics design.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing work environments.
- Experienced working with suppliers in an international environment on site and virtually.
- In depth knowledge of electronic components procurement market and trend technologies development.
- Ability to optimize and execute sourcing strategies on BOMs to meet component cost, availability and quality targets.
