POSITION SUMMARYUnder indirect supervision, the Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining working relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality possible of purchased components/materials, with a focus on continuous improvement. He/She establishes quality targets and goals, including quality cost reduction, warranty reduction, and overall supplier rating.RESPONSIBILITIESSupport determining the data-driven top customer field issues list, verify an owner is assigned, and status is reported weekly.Lead cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions through the problem-solving process.Evaluate completed corrective actions and ensure the effectiveness of actions.Recommend appropriate remedial activities.Visit suppliers to proactively see installations and document improvement needs.Visit suppliers to understand the nature of the issue and get definitive corrective action initiated in the organization.Request and approve PPAP documents from suppliers.Evaluate potential new suppliers by conducting on-site audits and scoring of the Quality Management System.Present reports to the organization regarding Quality performance.Present status updates on various quality initiatives to business management.Develop 8D and root cause analysis reports on escalated issues.Communicate internally and externally on outcomes of investigations.Work with Engineering, Services, Manufacturing/Operations, Sales, Offering, Management, and Supplier Quality to resolve quality issues impacting customers.Other responsibilities as required to support the OM team and LOB.QUALIFICATIONSReports to: Supplier Quality ManagerSchooling required: Bachelor's degree required with equivalent experience.Experience required: 3 to 4 years of experience.English level: 90%.Computational knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
