VP OF CONVERTING FPC Bangor is looking for a VP of Converting to manage and oversee the daily operations of a southern Maine facility. The goal of this individual is to continue to strengthen the company's operations, deepen the employee focused culture, and accelerate customer development for long-term success. The ideal candidate must be competent in leadership and the ability to mentor and empower the team to continually improve overall business capabilities.
Responsibilities:
· Plan, coordinate, and manage the plant and staff ensuring Safety, Quality, Operations and Financial objectives are attained.
· Manage the facility fostering a culture in which employees are engaged in their jobs, motivated to work as a team, recognized for the meaningful efforts they provide, and proud to be a part of the company.
· Identify and develop new business growth opportunities for converting and related services.
· Determine fit for services we can provide and appropriate price points to continually develop client base.
· Provide guidance for lean manufacturing principles and be able to successfully implement necessary changes.
· Manage the financial aspects of the P&L, budgeting process, and operations levers to achieve targeted growth.
· Develop collaborative relationships with our key customers, working jointly with sales and business development functions to grow the business.
· Maintain high standards for quality achievement, through an understanding of paper processing, equipment controls, and personnel training and guidance.
· Ensure an effective machine and facility maintenance program is in place and closely adhered to.
· Collect and document KPI data for mitigating risk, driving improvements and achieving/exceeding target goals.
· Identify key capital investment projects that will enhance and grow the business and then manage these projects through to completion.
· Collaborate with the Safety Manager and lead the site emphasis on safety.
· Ensure that staff strictly adheres to all safety rules, company guidelines and procedures.
· Position reports to CEO.
Education/Experience
· Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business or relevant field
·5-7 years of experience in operations management, preferably in paper or manufacturing environment
· Proven experience in executive management or equivalent position
· Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
· Outstanding communication and people skills
· Working knowledge of lean principles, data analysis and performance/operation metrics
