What you will do:
**Position Overview - **This _position is a unique opportunity to influence the way we as General Motors operate material flow in our assembly plants and lead the factory of future material flow implementation. As a Material Execution Lead, you will be responsible to lead future program material launch execution, implement material strategies & automation in general assembly sites. Work with cross functional team to setup efficient and lean material flow.**What You'll Do (Responsibilities)**:
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and work as 'One Team' to execute new Product Programs changes, develop business case for material strategies & automation initiatives. Develop long-term material flow vision for Automation & LMS implementation in assembly plants.- Lead future program material planning & execution from CSO to post SORP (steady state).
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to execute lean material strategies & automation in GMNA assembly plants.
- Support automation (ASRS, AMR/AME, etc.) planning & execution.
- Develop a detailed plan for future program material execution, investment and material storage space requirements.
- Develop material & LMS layouts for GA 4-walls/onsite LOC.
- Perform DPP/DPPN analysis.
- Maintain/update PFEP for future program changes.
- Forecast and manage checkbooks for material execution funds.
- Participate in GA conveyor and tooling layout deep dives to address material flow challenges.
- Support indirect headcount validation for future programs material flow & LMS.
- Maintain execution master dot and benefits Trackers (LMS and Material headcount savings)
- Support plant launch team & IE's to set up parts routing, STS/TIS for LMS execution.
- Participate in station-by-station reviews to ensure most efficient lineside material presentation to Mfg. Operators.
- Develop SOR and coordinate with GM purchasing to onboard strategic suppliers, procure LMS/Automation equipment.
- Participate in leadership review onsite for material launch readiness.
- Manage contract IIE resources, work assignments & deliverables.
- Drive best practices and standardized performance metrics across all GMNA assembly plants.
**Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)**
- Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering (ME, Supply chain, Industrial) or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of equivalent experience (Mfg. and Supply chain)
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing, supply chain and assembly processes.
- High level of analytical ability & problem solving where problems are unusual and difficult.
- Experience with using AutoCAD, Factory cad or equivalent, MS-Office tools (Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint)**What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)**
- GM plant operations experience
- Previous experience as Project Lead, with the ability to coordinate resources, provide leadership updates, report status, and track timelines.
- Exposure to automation execution, understanding the principles and concepts related to material flow automation.
- High level of communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to present findings to all levels of the organization.
