GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Welding Engineer works in the manufacturing area.
He/she answers directly to the Senior Engineer responsible for the area.
The Welding Engineer will be required to implement new products respecting the lean production process in his/her area.
He/she will be responsible for the Development, Introduction and support of the daily operation of all components processed in his/her area.
The Welding Engineer is the first contact when it comes to the calibration of the manufactured parts.
The Welding Engineer is always responsible for keeping all tools and machines in the best working condition.EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Professional Career in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, etc.)
- 3 years of experience in a related field.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bilingual (80% English and Spanish) both oral and written
- 3D modeling software
- Six Sigma methodologies
- Knowledge in MIG, TIG Welding Process
- Knowledge in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical.
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing: Material Flow, KanBan, 7 Wastes, FMEA, DFM, SMED, Problem Solving, 5SMAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop manufacturable parts/components with R&D respecting the team's capacity
- Evaluate and publish manufacturing drawing releases.
- Build, maintain and improve VSM.
- Assess equipment requirements
- Design process, tooling and masking for production that meets safety and quality standards.
- Design transfer hooks and transfer carts.
- Define hand tool requirement
- Create, deliver and update work instructions
- Create and maintain spare parts list and create preventive maintenance schedule
- Support daily operation
- Provide required information in SAP
- Track theoretical welding wire consumption vs actual consumption to ensure physical inventory
- Provide all required information for PPAP
- Implement lean manufacturing ideology
- Create and maintain machine workload capacity record.
- Create and maintain machine related material flow chart.
- Create and maintain efficient Kanban area
- Perform safety related activities.
- Create P3, Pilot and Dry Run parts.
- Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the department supervisor.
- Participate in the compliance of the QMS (Quality Management System) determined for their function in relation to ISO9001:2015.
- Comply with the safety rules determined according to their function.
- Comply on time with the planned training related to Quality and Training.
