.Job DescriptionThe Welding Process Engineering Senior Manager oversees all welding process engineering activities. The position also requires benchmarking standard methodologies and ensuring that desired weld procedures are certified, and the most productive processes are employed to meet quality requirements.Handle developing and qualifying welding procedures as required to ensure weld quality requirements and expected productivity are met.Maintain awareness of welding issues and changes within projects.Provide mentoring and technical advice to subordinate resources in the department in support of departmental replacement and succession planning.Support new construction model/drawing reviews from a welding engineering perspective and provide support to Operations/Design/Engineering teams.Manage all the Body in White (BIW) VPE Mexico activities for 4 plants (SVAP/STAP/TAP & SALT EXT).Monitor the timing for more than 15 projects for all locations and ensure the EEM WB implementation.Control the budget funds and coordinate the investments in all the projects on time.Follow up all the projects from the investment studies until the end and delivery to the plants.Accomplish in all the projects with Manufacturing Process Readiness Qualification (MPRQ): apply check lists in projects and maintain the zero no build conditions.Coordinate main activities during the shutdown activities with suppliers, plant security, and VPE to accomplish all the changes.Coordinate with plants all the insources support to accomplish the desired results.Develop new strategies and investment studies to accomplish the capex for each plant.Coordinate with 4 Engineering heads all the activities and projects for 4 plants. Work with feasibility teams on future projects. Work with 4 plant managers to align the VPE and desired activities.Specific FunctionsStrategic 60%Follow up tooling and equipment specifications.Package to ensure compliance within project timing and scope.Follow up tooling and equipment purchase requisitions creation and placement.Follow up OEM (suppliers) timing, design, construction, installation, testing, certification, validation, cycle time, and pilot runs.Operational 20%Coordinate workbooks filled up following WCT methodology.Coordinate risk assessment and health assessments.Administrate Toluca's and Saltillo's personnel to accomplish all activities.Resource Management 20%Understand facilities and tooling constraints.Handle BIW investments to meet standards and ascending order.Ensure ascending assembly order and process standards.Position RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree in Industrial Technology.13 years of experience working in BIW areas as a supervisor, with knowledge about BIW process ascending assembly order, process standards, structure, and facilities (building, conveyors, electrical substations, air compressors, water supply, etc.) involving BIW areas
