.Welding Process Engineering Senior ManagerJob DescriptionThe Welding Process Engineering Senior Manager oversees all welding engineering activities. The position also requires benchmarking standard methodologies and ensuring that desired weld procedures are certified, and the most productive processes are employed to meet quality requirements.Responsibilities include:Developing and qualifying welding procedures as required to ensure weld quality requirements and expected productivity are met.Maintaining awareness of welding issues and changes within projects.Providing mentoring and technical advice to subordinate resources in the department in support of departmental replacement and succession planning.Supporting new construction model/drawing reviews from a welding engineering perspective and providing support to Operations/Design/Engineering teams.Managing all the Body in White (BIW) VPE Mexico activities for 4 plants (SVAP/STAP/TAP & SALT EXT).Monitoring the timing for more than 15 projects for all locations and ensuring the EEM WB implementation.Controlling the portal funds and coordinating the investments in all projects on time.Following up all projects from the investment studies until the end and delivery to the plants.Accomplishing all projects with Manufacturing Process Readiness Qualification (MPRQ): applying checklists in projects and maintaining zero no build conditions.Coordinating main activities during shutdown activities with suppliers, plant security, and VPE to accomplish all changes.Coordinating with plants all insourcing support to accomplish desired results.Developing new strategies and investment studies to meet capex for each plant.Coordinating with 4 Engineering heads all activities and projects for 4 plants, working with feasibility teams on future projects, and aligning VPE and desired activities with 4 plant managers.Specific FunctionsStrategic (60%)Following up tooling and equipment specifications.Ensuring project timing and scope are met.Following up tooling and equipment purchase requisitions creation and placement.Following up OEM (suppliers) timing, design, construction, installation, testing, certification, validation, cycle time, and pilot runs.Operational (20%)Coordinating workbooks filled up following WCT methodology.Coordinating risk assessment and health assessments.Administering Toluca's and Saltillo's personnel to accomplish all activities.Resource Management (20%)Understanding facilities and tooling constraints.Handling BIW and General assembly (GA) investments to meet standards and ascending order.Managing ascending assembly order and process standards.Position RequirementsBachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related degree in Industrial Technology
