.**We help the world run better****PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES**Within the Technical Operations unit the team "Server Management" is focusing on virtual and physical server operations in ECS. Main locations of SM are Germany, Mexico, India and Romania. Operations are focused on a cloud-like delivery approach with large server pools (> 30 000 servers globally), highly available infrastructure landscapes (server cluster, operating systems with support of storage systems), very high level of automation.Driving continuous improvement is one main lever to increase operation availability and efficiency. Infrastructure landscape re-architecture and new technology adoption is another important part. Global thinking and a strong customer focus are essential.Within our team, we practice a trust-based working model. If you need to work flexibly from another location or at another time you can do so given your manager's agreement.**EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS**As Windows SM L3 specialist, you are responsible for:- Conceptual design, configuration, and administration of Windows Server landscapes.- Drive innovation to optimize, automate and standardize the operational delivery processes- Managing the daily operations, ensure high availability- Create and maintain documentation for daily operation, such as Standard Operation Procedure and Knowledge Base articles- Strong collaboration with other units within ECS and outside- Troubleshoot and resolve any hardware and OS related issue that impact the business.- Operational support as SME for 24x7 systems, including on-call rotation duties- Follow standard change management, problem/incident management processes and compliance and Audit guidelines- Excellent communication (fluent in English)**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES****Required skills**- Advanced technical background for server operating systems (Windows 2012, 2016, 2019)- Practical experience with OS operation, upgrades and security patching- Server to storage connectivity technology (NFS, CIFs, iSCSI)- Experience administering AD, DNS, ADFS, WSUS.- Networking experience with the suite of TCP/IP- Server and network security knowledge, OS hardening, antivirus solutions (McAfee)- Knowledge with common security concepts- Good knowledge on ITIL Standards for Problem, Change and Incident Management- Strong interpersonal and communication skills- You like to work in international teams, communicating in English fluently**Preferred skills**- Experience in server operation in large, non-homogeneous landscapes (+5000 server)- Experience with OS monitoring, backup/restore, configuration automation technologies (CHEF, Ansible)- Virtualization (VMware)- Windows Cluster Admininstration- Experience with public cloud service provides (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) is a plus
