Wiring Design Release Engineer

Job DescriptionAs a Wiring Harness Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing and managing the lifecycle of vehicle wiring harnesses from inception to implementation.This role requires a deep understanding of automotive electrical systems, an ability to manage complex projects, and active participation in all phases of product development and standardization.The responsibilities include: Overseeing the lifecycle of automotive parts from development to final implementation, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and deliverables.Ensure accuracy and consistency between parts/drawings and models, adhering to the "Model is Master" philosophyOwn and lead change management documentation processes.Validate necessity of changes in vehicle design and oversee first piece and production sign-off activitiesOwn and manage engineering issue processes including root cause analysis and corrective actionsActively participate in launch activities at assembly plants and support vehicle/component DFMEA, DVP, FO, and Design Rule activities.Review and validate supplier's DFMEA and DVPREngage in packaging and design review meetingsUpdate and maintain system databases and support wiring harness complexity documentationContribute to the production of owner's manual images and support standardization across components and documentsDevelop and architect the overall vehicle harness structure, ensuring it meets all technical and regulatory standardsInvestigate and implement simplification and innovation in harness design, performing benchmarking as necessaryPropose adjustments to electrical architectures to optimize cost and feasibilityRequirementsBasic Qualifications: Bachelor of Applied Science in EngineeringVery strong communication skills in English, both written and verbalProven experience in automotive design, specifically with wiring harnessesThorough knowledge of wiring harness manufacturing processesFamiliarity with automotive electrical architecture, including schematics and 3D/2D harness designProficiency in CAD design software, preferably Teamcenter Preferred Qualifications: Experience with JIRA Management SoftwareExperience with AI tools
