Bachelor's Degree in safety or related engineering or science, from an accredited university
- 8+ years' experience in WHS, ideally supporting high-risk operations.
- Fluent English and Spanish
- Experience in program implementation or managing contractors in the following programs: Fall Hazard Control, Electrical Safe Work, Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO), Conveyors & Machine Safeguarding, Confined Spaces, Hot Work and System Impairment, Fire Protection Systems, PIT / aerial lifts, Cranes, Hoisting & Rigging.

Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) is looking for a passionate, results-oriented WHS Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (RME) Program Manager to lead our WHS RME High-Risk Operations (HRO) program development and deployment supporting our (RME) across Mexico
This is a role with a multi-location scope across Mexico, providing technical support and drive implementation of WHS RME HRO programs that; encourage high engagement across all levels, drive risk reduction projects; deliver sustainable continuous performance improvements within a high-risk operation work environment.
You will demonstrate a passion and deep technical knowledge and expertise in workplace safety within a high-risk operation work environments and best practice safety standards, management system and local regulations.
This role requires travel approximately 40 % of time, based in Mexico.
Key job responsibilities
- Establish partnerships with RME leadership and work closely with country and site WHS teams.
- Support RME Leadership engage with technicians and contractors, encourage active involvement through defined expectations and ownership, bias-for-action escalating safety issues, using stop work authority, and support peer review WHS programs.
- Work with stakeholders to continuously improve WHS RME HRO program; effective deployment of standards and procedures, risk management and mitigation actions, incident management, inspection, audit & program assurance, training & communication.
- Leverage LATAM WHS RME HRO programs to dive-deep into country risk profile and define risk mitigation actions along with RME leadership to drive risk reduction and program improvement.
- Invent and simplify new ways to raise awareness and capabilities of RME teams to reach deep understanding of the inherent RME high-risks operations to effectively mitigate risks.
- Support Contract Risk Management (CRM) program, ensuring effective program deployment at site and contractor compliance with regulatory and Amazon WHS policy requirements
A day in the life
You will be responsible for driving the Mexico WHS RME HRO program deployment and continuous improvement ensuring the safety and well-being of our technicians, associates and third-party partners. You will work across the Mexico Amazon business units to understand the RME operational risks and support the RME leadership teams identify, develop and deploy WHS RME High-risk mitigation actions and processes, identify new technology solutions, work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to continuously "raise the bar" and sustainable deliver results.

- Master's degree in a related field and have or working towards recognized safety certifications.
- Working knowledge of regional regulatory requirements and standards (ISO, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability with experience in technical, standards, or program writing.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certified or equivalent
- Ability to adapt well to fast-paced.
