.About the teamThe CHeSS (Core Home Shopping Services) team is a dedicated services group within the Search & Discover Experience Engineering organization.
Established in 2021, we have built a stable team with low attrition, focused on empowering the Web and App teams to develop search experiences that help our customers find "the one." We are responsible for a suite of high-throughput, low-latency services that support crucial property search and lookup use cases.
Our work impacts millions of users, processing billions of searches every week, and we are excited about the upcoming challenges and opportunities, including the implementation of GraphQL APIs and collaboration with the AI team to enhance customer experiences.
About the roleWe are seeking a Senior Software Development Manager (SDM) who will report to the Senior Director.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a high-performing engineering team to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.
Key responsibilities include:Providing technical leadership and overseeing project management to ensure alignment with strategic business goals.Building and mentoring the team, driving innovation, and improving development processes.Ensuring code quality, managing risks, and allocating resources efficiently.Taking full ownership of the quarterly roadmap and continuous planning processes.Collaborating with peers and stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration across the organization.
The initial responsibilities will also include hiring three Software Development Engineers (SDEs) and managing the contingent workforce for optimal resource allocation.
This role has been categorized as a teleworker position.
Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company.
Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

Who you areWe are looking for someone with a proven track record of leading strong engineering teams and fostering team growth.
The ideal candidate will have:Technical Expertise: 5+ years of experience in backend services and cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and proficiency in designing and operating backend services.Leadership and Management: Experience in team leadership, project management, and motivating engineering teams.Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop a long-term technical vision aligned with business goals and make informed decisions balancing short-term needs with long-term objectives.Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
