Job Overview: The Associate Security Specialist utilizes existing security procedures to solve routine or standard problems. They receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team. They will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to security and Health Safety Environment Security.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Support the Security Manager with site security needs Supervise security guard personnel and ensure full engagement with area QHSES personnel Work in conjunction with Security Guard Supervisors and Security Specialists/Supervisors in applying and executing effective security plans Maintain close relationships with designated project line supervision Recognize deficiencies and suggest improvements to existing processes Assist in the implementation of specific and measurable goals Review weekly guard schedule and ensure all posts are covered as required Liaise between employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors Perform scheduled patrols and random checks of designated areas throughout the facility to prevent security breaches Enforce Security Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring that McDermott facilities, personnel, and assets are protected Conduct investigations and produce high-quality reports Maintain security equipment and document findings when damaged or in need of maintenance Defuse disturbances in accordance with company policies and procedures Essential Qualifications and Education: 5 years of experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or Military or 1 year as a Security Guard Supervisor High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Degree or equivalent industry-recognized qualification Must have satisfactory job performance evaluations if an internal promotion Must hold a valid driver's license Must possess all state/federal/national security guard license(s) applicable to the area of operation Experience with the Microsoft Office platform Effective written and oral communication skills; able to communicate clearly with all levels of management on business matters Ability to work extended or extra shifts when required Must pass Fit for Duty as required Must be able to stand for long periods For USA-based operations, must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Demonstrates the ability to read and write comprehensive reports for investigation and documentation Knowledge of the principles and practices of security and safety Experience and knowledge of various access control platforms (Lenel), video management systems, and incident management applications/software preferred
