Job purpose
This position involves the development of reliable suppliers by assessing supplier capabilities, implementing monitoring, and overseeing an effective metrics and problem reporting and resolution process. The work is technical in nature, following the Supplier Performance Development Process (SPDP) tasks, as well as ethical guidelines established by Supply Chain Management.
Key responsibilities
- Meet all departmental and competency objectives.
- Implement "Production Cycle" tasks from SPDP.
- Resolve and document part quality issues with suppliers using BorgWarner tools: the SPS (Supplier Performance System), I Valua system and PowerBi System.
- Review supplier corrective actions and provide timely feedback to suppliers and BorgWarner stakeholders.
- Emphasize the use of 5-Why analysis to validate the root cause/corrective action chosen.
- Emphasize the use of BorgWarner's 8D format.
- Document required complaints to purchased material and follow up in a timely manner to closure ensuring efficiency of corrective actions.
- Document/Support Cost Recovery Process.
- Obtain RMA from suppliers for timely disposition of suspect material.
- Interface with all BorgWarner SQE, SDE, component engineering and purchasing groups.
- Support quality system certification activities (IATF16949).
- Proactive participation in resolving potential supplier issues that affect FTQ, trigger alarms or customers.
- Participate in Material Reviews called for potential/confirmed supplier quality issues. This position will be in accordance with BorgWarner Reynosa's current Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Management System designed and implemented under Mexican law and applicable national and international standards. Safety rules, practices and training are included as outlined in the BorgWarner Reynosa Internal Work Regulations, which include the use of equipment, protective devices and/or clothing required by the company. This position will perform in a manner that emphasizes the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses by assuming responsibility for those aspects of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System over which he/she has control. All reasonable precautions must be taken in the given circumstances for the protection of your own safety and health and that of co-workers. In addition, you will be responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible hazardous situations, exposure hazards, incidents or accidents that occur to your immediate supervisor so that preventive and corrective actions can be taken.
What we're looking for
Basic Knowledge
- Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Degree
- Knowledge in Quality Systems and Quality Standards (IATF 16949)
- Knowledge in the use of statistical tools
Specific Knowledge
- Microsoft Office Knowledge
- English language Reading and Writing >80%.
- Experience 2 to 3 years in quality area.
