Responsible for overseeing the work of HTS Code determination for finished goods and components of all Eaton's businesses across America (US, MX, Canada). This position leads a team of Classification specialists.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and execute the correct HS Determination ensuring all necessary documentation and technical support retained to full compliance with the applicable international laws
- Carry out Classification projects, to deliver them on time and enhance communication with GTM Managers and businesses to communicate regular status or needs to avoid any lack of technical support or detail
- Prepare all documentation needed to assist with Pre and Post Entry activities such as CF28, CF29, when mismatches or clarification on HS interpretation is requested by authorities
- Lead HS Mismatches and technical discussions with vendors, customs brokers or suppliers when a different criterion is identified
- Conduct internal audits to make sure processes and work instructions are follow up by the classification analysts and HTS code are accurate. Follow up to eliminate findings to minimize compliance risks
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree required (Master degree desirable)
- 7 - 10 years In Trade Compliance experience. Customs classification expertise.
- Advanced classification skills and solid knowledge of the General Rules of Interpretation of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
- Excellent knowledge of U.S. and Mexican Government Import Regulations, including knowledge of HTS classification rules and valuation laws.
