**Responsibilities**:
- Understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards.
- Designing and developing new control systems.
- Testing, maintaining, and modifying existing systems.
- Analyzing data and presenting findings in written reports.
- Analyzing challenges in current control processes and recommend appropriate improvement solutions.
- Working together with operation engineers, process engineers to implement new process control model and strategies.
- Develop standards that incorporate the new/modified control system architecture.
- Provide control system support for capital projects.
- Train technical personnel on control and changes.
- Support internal commissions (CAC)
- Project management within cost and time constrained environments.
- Providing advice and consultancy support.
- Purchasing control equipment.
- Writing computer software and test procedures.
- Provide technical support to operations.
- Implement projects and process changes following Management of Change procedures.
- Lead root cause analyses of process upsets and equipment failures to identify corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in problem solving teams to identify, design and implement improvement projects including Six sigma improvement efforts.
**Qualifications**:
Knowledge:
- Safety Systems.- Basic documentation: Safety requirements, specification, logic diagrams, test procedures, safety integrity level.
- Safety system design: I/O assignments, redundancy, software design.
- Testing: Methods, procedures, documentation.
- Management of change: Scope of change, impact of change.
- Codes, standards, and regulations: ANSI, IEE, IEEE, ISA, NFPA.
- Control Systems.- Drawings: P&IDs, loop diagrams, process flow diagrams, ladder diagrams, electrical drawings.
- Basic Processes:
Pressure, flow, temperature, level.
- Loop response.
- Relationship variables.
- Type of signals.
- Transmission.
- Final control elements.
**Requirements**:
- BS in Chemical Engineering, electronic, electrical, or mechanical.
- 3-5 years working in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) environment preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to contribute effectively as an individual and within a team.
- Initiative and ability to plan, prioritize, and work with mínimal supervision.
