.General Information- The Construction Inspector is responsible to ensure TransCanada is in compliance with all Welding, Mechanical, civil works, coating and NDT regulations, company policies, procedures and specifications.- The Construction Inspector is the Company's authorized representative and is to inspect and ensure that proper construction procedures are qualified and utilized, the construction technicians used are certified, the welders are qualified, sound welds are produced, and proper documentation is maintained. These activities must be performed in accordance with the appropriate TransCanada specifications and procedures.- The Construction inspector will work directly under the direction of the Construction Manager- Responsibilities- Act as Active Control / Authorized TransCanada Representative, and will be required to manage, monitor and control the work activities of contractors or subcontractors, and all safety aspects on site as well.- It will be the field support for coordination of construction inspectors.- Inspecting various constructions jobs across TransCanada assets- Ensuring the correct equipment is being used- Setting up mechanical testing appointments- Checking welding/NDE/coating specifications and qualifications- Verify correct pre and post weld heat treatments- Supervise NDE on completed welds- Writing up reports and direct participation in weekly meetings with the contractor.- Participate in pre-qualification of contractors- Piping fabrication supervision.- The Chief Inspector must have knowledge of inspection in civil, electrical and instrumentation works, as well as pipe pressure tests (PH´s).- He must follow up together with the inspectors at the closure of the NCR's.- Education/Experience_- Have a Clearly commitment to safety, experience in safety leadership and specific training/certifications in Safety topics by OSHA, STPS or equivalent.- Carries a degree/diploma/certification as an engineer, technologist or technician in a related field- Min 10 years' experience in construction inspection.- Working knowledge of the latest B31.3 and B31.8 codes, NOM-007-SECRE-2010, ASME IX and API 1104.- Visual Acuity Report (eye exam).- Possession of a level II NDE certificate would be an asset (e.G
