.**Description**Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Solves a range of moderately complex problems. Leads projects of limited scope and portions of larger projects. Provides informal guidance to team members with less experience. Contributes to department objectives and outcomes as guided.**Accountabilities**- Supports decisions for rail car and end-of-train (EOT) device cost analysis.- Provides asset (railcar and EOT) utilization analysis and reporting while measuring key performance indices.- Provides reporting mechanisms utilizing data mining in support of asset management projects.- Develops and maintains standardized reports.- Manages and continuously improves railcar and EOT expense, inventory and invoicing processes.- Coordinates with budgeting and planning on railcar and EOT operating expense.- Partners with stakeholders within Operations regarding railcar and EOT utilization and to secure explanations regarding any variances in data outcomes.- Manages KC Southern and KC Southern de Mexico OT-18 liability, as regulated by the Association of American Railroads (AAR) accounting rules for end-of-train telemetry devices.- Provides regulatory reporting data in support of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) reporting requirements.- Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.**Required**- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study- Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience**Preferred**- Experience in the transportation or logistics business- General understanding of procurement processes- Knowledge of SAP data management program- Familiar with Railinc- Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions**Working Conditions**- Business travel required, up to 20%- This position has a regular full time schedule with a normal work week of Monday through Friday. There may be a need for occasional work after hours or weekends.- On-call responsibilities are an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support operations of critically important systems and/or processes 24 hours per day/7 days per week. On-call assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.- Business travel is an essential requirement of this job.
