About the team: SAP CPIT Business Infrastructure Operations is SAP's IT-infrastructure provider and is responsible for running SAP's backend technology including operations of state of the art datacenters as well as client technology around the globe. Business Infrastructure Operations Americas is responsible for 24x7 operations and critical SAP systems and applications embedded in an international delivery approach. As part of the BSS team, the global database administration team is responsible for all databases running on SAP Hana, Sybase ASE/SRS, and MSSQL.
Beside administration, we are part of pilot projects for new technologies as reference for SAP customers. The database team is located in St. Leon-Rot, Dresden, India, and Mexico. Driving continuous improvement is our main focus to increase operation, availability, and efficiency. Infrastructure landscape re-architecture and new technology adoption is another important part. Global thinking and a strong customer focus are essential.
What you'll do: As Database Administrator you are responsible for:
Planning, setup, and implementation of homogeneous/heterogeneous OS/DB migrationDB installations, patching, and upgradeProviding technical expertise and support in optimizing and tuning of SystemsOrganizing/Structuring day-to-day documentationUsage of High availability technologyContinuous support of SAP systems and problem solvingDevelopment of concepts and tools to solve and prevent problems and to increase efficiencyWorking in international teams and driving global knowledge transfer and best practicesDB performance optimization on expert levelWork with new database technologies like "In Memory" Hana or Sybase ASE/SRS/IQ as part of pilot and first implementations inside of SAPWillingness to take on call dutyWhat we expect from you: Database knowledge in one (or more preferably) of the following DB platforms: SAP HANA, Sybase ASE, or MSSQLAbility to work in a global distributed team, easily developing good working relationships across our organizationFluent English is mandatoryExperience in Support Roles for Incident Management / Problem ManagementStrong analytical, problem-solving skills, and work customer orientatedNice to have: 1+ years working in one (or more preferably) of the following DB platforms: SAP HANA, SAP ASE, or MSSQLTechnical experience with database solutions within an SAP Environment would be beneficialMSSQL, Sybase ASE, and Hana knowledge would be beneficialWork experience in international teamsBring out your best SAP innovations help more than four hundred thousand customers worldwide work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively.
