More than half the world's population sees AP journalism every day.The Associated Press seeks an Implementation and Support Specialist to work on its Workflow Solutions team providing assistance to media companies who use software that AP licenses. This position is to be based in Mexico or Colombia.Responsibilities:Provide on-site, telephone and remote support for software and systems used in television, radio, online and network newsrooms in North, Central and South America. Systems include ENPS, AP Storytelling, ENPS Mobile and add-ons.Provide on-site and remote training to users of our software and systems.Log, test, and help resolve customer issues, interfacing with other development and support groups as necessary.Troubleshoot software and systems issues with Support, Product, and Technology Solutions teams.Provide onsite and remote software deployment to users of our software and systems.Provide onsite and remote server migration for users of our software and systems.Provide Sales/marketing support of software and systems for customers on site and remotely.Regular travel may be required.Participation in an on-call rotation outside normal working hours is required.Desired Experience and Skills:Well organized, a strong self-starter and team player able to work effectively without direct supervision.Able to lead training sessions for technical and non-technical customers.Strong understanding of and/or experience with news production systems and workflows is preferred. AP ENPS experience a strong plus.Experience in software support or other technical support role and/or knowledge on how to identify, investigate and resolve issues with the technical operation of software, systems, and integration is preferred.Technical aptitude and proficient understanding of personal computers (PC and Mac) and Microsoft Windows.University degree in journalism, computer sciences or a related discipline, or additional relevant work experience is essential.Experience working with newsroom control systems.Advanced experience with personal computers, cloud computing, SaaS, Amazon Web Services, webapps, servers, and server operating systems or web design and production is a plus.Able to work with standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, and telephones, through the course of a regular workday.Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities are required.Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English and Spanish is mandatory.
