As a Production Group Leader, you are responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment.
You will participate in the training, development, and evaluation of hourly team members and in the development of highly effective teams.Your key responsibilities include:Leading Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serving as a resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.Meeting or exceeding production cost schedules while maintaining quality requirements.Maintaining awareness of quality standards and communicating department quality goals, leveraging resources to solve quality issues.Building and maintaining good working relationships with employees, union, and management.Understanding and consistently administering the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.Implementing and following systems that prevent the reoccurrence of known issues.Promoting safe work practices and achieving objectives for ergonomics, health and safety, and housekeeping.Motivating, training, and developing employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods.Ensuring team members receive adequate JIT (Job Instruction Training).Achieving production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with an emphasis on variation reduction, controlling costs, and achieving productivity improvements.Coaching, teaching, counseling, and mentoring Group Leaders in these responsibilities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
