Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all shipments activated in the system are assigned to traffic coordinators and monitor and control file activation team metrics.
- Responsible for follow-up, escalation and/or resolution of operational issues; maintain constant communication with suppliers to meet customer requirements (internal and external).
- Monitor and control the key performance indicators of the Ocean Events team.
- Monitor and enforce the Ocean Operations team to execute according to the Global Ocean Freight SOP, Country Ocean Freight SOP for each country, Corporate Bill of Landing Guide, Operational SOP and other documented procedures to meet customer requirements.
- Participate in inter-departmental meetings with internal customers and suppliers (review operational service issues) to contribute to the smooth running of operational processes.
- Report to your immediate supervisor the major deviations or non-compliances of suppliers and/or other internal departments to achieve service improvement.
- Participate in the follow-up of non-conformities to provide the requested information, justify the reasons for the service provided, and obtain a resolution of the conflict in order to take actions to prevent or correct customer dissatisfaction (internal and external).
- Periodically check that the information in TANGO is correctly filled by the activation teams, events, operations, and if inconsistencies are found, work with the appropriate team for training.
- Do annual appraisals employee performance reviews and send them to the P&O team to measure the skills and abilities of employees as they perform their jobs.
Details/Specification/Explanation of the role specific skills
- Minimum 6 years' experience of related supervisory / managerial experience with Ocean Freight Forwarding
- Business English required
- Knowledge of U.S. Customs requirements, of Freight Forwarding / Supply Chain Logistics
- Knowledge of Incoterms and Ocean Freight Operations
- Understanding of carriers' service and routing
- Understanding of the customer's current shipment, statistical and financial status (Credit)
- Ms Office skills required
- Must be detail oriented and accurate when processing documentation
- Self-starter with a team player mindset
- Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
