In the job as Procurement Specialist you will have the opportunity to support to the organization by meeting the challenging goal of finding new suppliers for the products we make in Mexico, impact product development and your own daily tasks and responsibilities and experience a very varied working day in a dynamic organization. You will work closely with local and international colleagues from Denmark and Asia and in the US.
**Objective**:
Support manufacturing, secure procurement needs for equipment and processes, participate in continuous improvement, cost reduction, and raw material projects and/ or optimization.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Supplier localization: Identify competitive, reliable and strategic local suppliers (Mexico/US) for direct material currently sourced from Asia to reduce lead time and carbon footprint mainly, while working with cross-functional teams to successfully qualify new products and vendors.
- Strategic Sourcing: Developing and implementing procurement strategies for direct material.
- Supplier Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
- Cost Management: Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing measures to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality. This can involve negotiating better pricing, leveraging volume discounts, or implementing cost control measures.
- Contract Management: Managing the entire lifecycle of contracts with suppliers. This includes drafting and reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, monitoring contract performance, and overseeing renewals or terminations.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improving procurement processes and practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Risk Management: Assessing and mitigating risks associated with the procurement of direct goods. This includes identifying potential risks, developing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and company policies.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as finance, legal, engineering, quality, and other departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing procurement data, generating reports and providing insights to support decision-making. This involve tracking KPIs, monitoring supplier performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
- Market Research: Staying updated with market trends, emerging technologies and industry best practices related to indirect procurement. This includes attending industry conferences, networking with peers, and conducting market intelligence activities.
- Maintain Agile and M3 systems (i.e., set up new suppliers, upload proper documentation, implement lifecycle changes, update Purchase Agreements, etc.)
**Required Basic Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or any other related field
- 5+ years' experience in Manufacturing environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
