**Position Objective**:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting assigned Procurement projects from inception to completion, reducing the cost of procured direct materials and focusing on the supply market. The position also evaluates and maintains supplier relationships and recommends new suppliers in a highly regulated environment.
**Essential Responsibilities**:
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to key direct materials categories for the organization which may include, but not be limited to: Film, Plastics, Resin.
- Conduct market search to identify potential suppliers and work with their manager to negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements.
- Develop a strong understanding of the current and potential supply base, maintaining a view of supplier capabilities, supplier component specifications, and supplier product portfolios.
- Support Category Managers in developing baseline cost for categories including total cost analysis, technical specifications, supplier selections and the category management projects on Productivity, Cash Flow, SRM & Supply Base, Preferred Suppliers.
- Provide ad hoc analytical support as required by the category initiatives.
- Generate and articulate clear actionable insights and highlight relevant trends through data exploration and analysis.
- Utilize systems for documentation and record keeping purposes.
- Create and maintain a database of current pricing and lead times from distributors and OEMs for components.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Completes initial and ongoing supplier risk assessment while developing and implementing appropriate risk mitigation plans.
- Prepare and support reports and presentations on procurement activities and cost savings initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
- Supports supplier RFx activities/bids through analysis of supplier bid packages and selects the most desirable supplier based on negotiated terms and business requirements. Provide support as needed to the operational teams impacted by disruptions in the supply chain caused by shortage and below standard product being received.

**Requirements**:
- Education:_
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field of study
- Experience:_
Minimum 2 years of related procurement experience required.
Experience in the biopharmaceutical and/or medical industries preferred

Excellent presentation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Ability to adapt/ adjust to new technologies and methods.
