.The Banking Controller Analyst is an important intermediate level position within the Controller organization responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records. The overall objective of this role is to product control all financial aspects for the business segment covered, including P&L explain, attribution, new activity analysis, support data integrity and general ledger reconciliation.Based in Mexico City, the candidate will be led by the SVP in NY and provide critical product control support to the Banking business, particularly the Investment Banking segment which includes M&A, Equity, and Debt Capital Markets Origination. There will also be opportunities to regularly work directly with the global product lead controller.The candidate will be exposed to an exciting range of relevant products within these businesses and the associated Income Statement and Balance Sheet controls. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders including Front Office, Middle Office, Market Risk, Valuation Control, and Technology teams to understand trading inventory and related movement of Balance Sheet and P&L.Core Responsibilities:Daily P&L production and reporting for desks within the Investment Banking segments.Daily financial close out of transactions including Income Statement analysis, journal entry posting responsibility, and validation of ledger balances.Maintaining awareness of accounting and regulatory changes affecting P&L reporting.Coordination of Global P&L daily reporting.Track and reconcile Receivables and Payables in the context of the IB fee life cycle.Participate in business-specific projects and research.Assist in periodic balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation reviews.Close and regular interaction with the above-mentioned stakeholders to resolve booking and control issues.Key Attributes:Exhibit intellectual curiosity towards Investment Banking and product control areas.Solve complex business issues independently and ask for the right help as needed.Ability to use first principles and apply accounting knowledge and logic to daily tasks.Communicate information clearly and succinctly.
