.Position Title: Quality EngineerReports to: Quality ManagerWork Location: SaltilloWe have an exciting opportunity at our Saltillo location for a hands-on problem solver who is excited about taking us to the NEXT level. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining quality processes and procedures in the manufacturing production or process area.RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform root cause analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem-solving tools.Coordinate or independently recommend and implement cost-effective permanent corrective actions either within the quality function or coordinating with other plant functions.Continuously review and ensure compliance of data provided by hourly quality technicians in order to achieve quality objectives.Provide expert leadership in coordinating and directing cross-functional teams in the application of quality initiatives such as problem solving and mistake proofing of quality problems.Provide clear direction to skilled and non-skilled trades in the operation of product testing and evaluation to generate necessary quality test data.Protect product design intent and function while assisting with identification and solutions of manufacturing constraints.Provide technical direction to employees regarding root cause analysis, issue resolution, and establish corrective actions serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the manufacturing facility.Interpret and ensure knowledge transfer of manufacturing changes with respect to engineering designs, specifications, materials, and standards for hourly and salary personnel.Demonstrate operational knowledge of most production activity necessary to determine appropriate preventative quality assurance practices and to assess performance against requirements.Responsible for timely changes to quality documentation or practices. Communicate, train and ensure understanding to all affected employees.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.3+ years of experience in quality and/or manufacturing positions.Proficiency with measuring tools: micrometers, calipers, comparators, gauges, etc.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner.Drive issues to closure.Previous experience with process/material disciplines relative to impact on quality.Experience with APQP, ISO, IATF standards or equivalent required.PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D problem-solving experience.KEY COMPETENCIESBehavioral Competencies – Common to all Motus PositionsIntegrity – Iron clad.
