.Senior Mechanical Project EngineerWork Mode: HybridLocation: Juárez, Nuevo LeónBASIC FUNCTIONUnder the functional guidance of the Engineering Manager or Sr Staff Engineer, the Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will execute the development of new faucet and sanitary products and the adaptation and redesign of existing products for introduction into various markets.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESExecutes complex engineering projects involving the development of new products and changes to existing products including specification, concept, design, qualification, and verification of products and sub-assemblies.Creates and maintains product specifications to meet Kohler and regulatory requirements.Applies standard engineering tools such as CAD (CREO), Bills of Materials (SAP), GD&T, DFMEA, and FEA.Uses engineering tools to ensure robust design of products that meet market needs, cost targets, margin goals, and code requirements.Coordinates engineering activities with other functional areas, remote plants, suppliers, and contractors. Actively and effectively supports local plant activities.As appropriate, mentors and guides staff to complete engineering sub-tasks to meet global business objectives.Travel: Moderate travel to North American and international locations to meet with Kohler team members, guide project execution, and communicate project needs to Kohler and supplier facilities.SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESHard SkillsStrong analysis of design interfaces through tolerance stack analysis to guarantee design intent.Moderate use of CREO CAD Software to model and inspect 3D files, elaborate assemblies, and 2D drawings through the use of ASME for GD&T.Moderate mechanical design fundamentals for manufacturing processes such as injection molding, casting, machining as well as applied finishes such as PVD and plating.Moderate understanding of material science applications for metals/mechanics, plastics, and elastomers.Moderate knowledge on design for variability applications, such as DFSS, process capability (CPK), etc.Soft SkillsCommunication: Uses speaking, writing, and listening skills to effectively and candidly share information, express opinions and motivate others to act.Relationship Building: Successfully establishes and maintains positive relationships with all contacts such as teammates, co-workers, management, suppliers, and customers.Calculated Risk Taking: Makes appropriate decisions using support tools, accurate data, and critical thinking.
