About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use): 11Market Scan, now a part of S&P Global, is a leading provider of technology and analytical solutions for the automotive industry and our software products are in very high demand with auto dealers, manufacturers, lenders and API partners.We are in search of a Sr Software Engineer who will work with an awesome team of developers. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, multi-tasker, and demonstrated team-player. You will be a lead developer responsible for the development of new software products and enhancements to Market Scan's existing products. You should excel in working with large-scale applications and frameworks and have outstanding communication and leadership skills.Technologiesc#; .Net, javascript; sql-server; git; multi-threading a plusWhat you will do:Work with a fantastic group of people in a supportive environment where training, learning and growth are embracedDevelop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycleDetermine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutionsDocument and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear codePrepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards and programmingImprove operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and proceduresUpdate job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizationsProtect operations by keeping information confidentialProvide information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing development and service issuesAccomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as neededCollaborate with team to brainstorm and create new productsUnderstand business needs and know how to create the tools to manage them.What we are looking for8+ years of experience as a software engineer6+ years of experience in C# .NET including Web services.4+ years professional experience with SQL Server (stored procedures, design patterns, covering indexes)Fluent English Conversational and written skills.Advanced knowledge in OOP (static constructors, heap, reflection, memory management)Expert level in TPL dataflow design (tasks, threads, semaphores, locks)Familiarity with APIs, deep knowledge of HTTP request/response handling in .NETExceptional multitasking skills in a fast-paced, deadline driven environmentExperience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problemsComfort working in a highly agile, fast pace, intensely iterative software development processEffective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers, and clear status updatesAn inclination towards communication, inclusion, and visibility.Experience owning a task or project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and executionSelf-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to work closely with the team and other parts of the organizationShare our values, and work in accordance with those valuesPositive and solution-oriented mindsetAbility to provide on-call or after hour support as needed (limited) on a rotation basisNOTE: Remote or Hybrid options available.About S&P Global MobilityAt S&P Global Mobility, we provide invaluable insights derived from unmatched automotive data, enabling our customers to anticipate change and make decisions with conviction.
