.Career Level - IC3**What You'll Do**Ownership Scope - As an SRE, you will understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of the production services you own. In partnership with your Development partners, you will have the responsibility to ensure that services are designed and delivered to be mission critical with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance.Operations Engineering - You will understand and be able to communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes and requirements of the services you own.Automation - You will have a clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles, and will be eager to automate, wherever and whenever the possibility arises, while simultaneously eliminating technical debt. Automation must be part of your DNA.Prevention - Once you have expertly resolved an issue, you will immediately work on how to more quickly resolve the problem next time, with the goal to eventually prevent the problem happening ever againBroad Interests - SREs are a rare mix of sysadmins and development Engineers, and as such have the ability to understand and explain the affect of product architecture decisions on the ability to run as distributed systems. SREs can be expected to represent our team capabilities to other stakeholders.**Qualifications****Minimum Qualifications**- 3-5+ years of experience as Oracle DBA- 3+ years of experience automating and streamlining processes to add performance and stability- Bachelor's degree/master's degree (Information Technology/Mathematics/Computer Science/Computer Software/Electronics/Operational Research/Computer System Engineering).- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.- Strong grasp of Computer Science concepts- Knowledge in Python, Perl and/or Shell Scripting- Managing production databases running on UNIX flavors (RHEL, OEL).- You are experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols.- Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality code in production and troubleshoot issues when they arise- Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)- Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services
