As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you'll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world's toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, ensuring our food is safe, or helping find cures for cancer.**Discover Impactful Work**:Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that Thermo Fisher Scientific's services have reliability, uptime appropriate to customers' needs, and a fast rate of improvement. Additionally, SREs will keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems' capacity and performance.Continuously bring automation as part of operational support. On the SRE team, you'll have the opportunity to engage in various challenges of scale in Thermo Fisher Scientific while using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis, and large-scale system design.**A Day in the Life**:- Be part of a team of Software/Systems Engineers on projects for users and be directly responsible for uptime.- Support end-to-end availability and performance of key services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. Automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.- Be part of on-call rotations across continents using a follow-the-sun model.- Take part in designing, writing, and delivering software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Thermo Fisher Scientific's services.**Keys to Success**:**Education**- Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalently technical fields.**Experience**- Experience in software development in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Go and/or Perl, Python, and Ruby (maybe acquired through work or school).- Understanding of overall ecosystems for Ecommerce Web sites.- Understanding of core Linux.- Understanding of MIMs (Major Incident Management) is preferred.- Some experience working with algorithms, data structures, and production troubleshooting (maybe acquired through work or school).- Exposure to logging monitoring solutions such as Datadog/Splunk is preferred.
