The Communications Specialist for Mexico, will be responsible for executing the strategic communication plans in the country with support from the Regional Latam team, working together with the Communications team in Mexico, and the broader Business, Policy and Legal teams to maintain the company's position with relevant stakeholders, supporting the company's voice on a range of topics including brand awareness, government regulation, taxes and legal matters among others.You must be comfortable and confident in working directly with PR agencies and journalists; managing media inquiries on deadline and helping design and deliver communications plans supporting brand objectives. We are looking for an effective and creative communicator passionate about traveling willing to learn and grow inside the Comms team.This full-time role will be based in Mexico City. The role will report to the Regional Communications Lead for Spanish-Speaking Latam.**Responsibilities**:- Execute communications plan and cadence for major markets across Mexico on an as-needed basis.- Manage in alliance with Sr. Comms manager and Local PR Agency, all aspects of reactive press requests and ensure utilization of all tools available (data, industry research, host stories, etc.) to defend Airbnb's community and brand.- Develop written materials (story pitches, messaging guidelines, Q&As, briefs, presentations, speeches, etc.) and manage the approval process with both regional and global leads.- Support the team's reporting and measurement needs to report back impact and ROI as needed.- Develop and manage relationships with reporters and influencers in market.- Identify proactive press opportunities in support of legislative and policy priorities (i.E. moving a bill forward, demonstrating the impact of a tax agreement, outlining our policy positions).- Work with other members of the Corporate and Consumer Comms teams for feedback and guidance on best strategies in specific markets and situations, help localize global projects and create local programs.- Identify proactive press opportunities and drive national/global announcements, in support of policy, corporate and consumer communications goals.**Requirements**:- Bachelor's Degree- 4+ years of Public Relations/Public Affairs experience, either working in an agency or in-house- Fluency in English and Spanish
